About this fabric

Catalogued as a velvet, Courtyard Multi is suited to upholstery where its dense, decorative layout can be seen at close range. The design is arranged in large square compartments, with each panel carrying a distinct floral, geometric or central medallion motif, while diamond borders and small patterned blocks connect the grid. Vivid scarlet and coral sit alongside mustard yellow, olive and charcoal, with cream detailing and burgundy accents adding definition between the motifs. The softly textured face and strong colour contrast give this colourway a richly layered, luxe character.

How to use it

Use Courtyard Multi on a statement armchair, footstool or occasional seat, then draw out its mustard, olive or charcoal notes in surrounding plain fabrics. Its red-and-coral warmth works especially well against dark wood, aged brass and earthy neutral walls.

Use this ornate multicolour velvet to make a statement chair or upholstered bench the room’s focal point.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
