About this fabric

This Clarke & Clarke textile is a plain woven fabric with a closely worked crosshatch texture rather than a printed design. Copper, russet and deeper brown threads blend across the surface, producing a warm shade that appears subtly lighter where the weave catches the light. At 300 gsm and 144 cm usable width, it is a versatile mid-weight choice for upholstery and drapery. Both the vertical and horizontal pattern repeats are 0 cm, confirming the all-over character of the weave, while the standard length is 40 m.

How to use it

Use Martello Copper on a reading chair, bench or full-length curtain where its warm brown-copper tone can sit comfortably with walnut, aged brass and softly contrasting neutrals. The irregular woven texture also adds depth to cushions without introducing a separate pattern.

Use this warm copper-brown weave to add quiet depth to seating, curtains or cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
