About this fabric

The charcoal ground shifts subtly between slate and graphite as the light catches the uneven crosshatch, creating depth without a visible motif. At 300 gsm, it has a substantial mid-weight handle suited to both upholstery and drapery. The fabric has a 144 cm usable width and a 40 m standard length, while both vertical and horizontal pattern repeats are 0 cm. Its quiet, non-directional texture keeps the dark colourway composed across larger upholstered or hung surfaces.

How to use it

Use Martello Charcoal to give a room a cool, grounded foundation on a sofa, headboard or relaxed curtain. Pair its graphite depth with pale woods, chalky neutrals or brushed metal so the woven texture remains visible rather than reading as flat black.

A deep charcoal woven texture that brings quiet depth to upholstery, cushions or softly tailored window treatments.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
