Acanthus Teal

William Morris Designs FabricCCF0689-04

Acanthus Teal sets pale, curling acanthus leaves against a cool blue-teal ground, creating a richly patterned textile with a distinctly softened, dusky character. The compact foliage repeat keeps the surface visually full without relying on a large-scale motif.

About this fabric

The ground is a muted teal with a cool blue cast, layered with pale blue-grey and softly creamy leaves, curling stems and small botanical details. Its densely arranged acanthus forms create a flowing all-over rhythm across the 27.8 cm vertical by 23 cm horizontal repeat. At 226gsm and 138 cm usable width, this is a versatile mid-weight fabric suited to both upholstery and drapery; the standard length is 40 metres. The restrained contrast between the deeper teal background and lighter foliage gives the colourway depth while keeping its overall impression calm rather than bright.

How to use it

Use Acanthus Teal on a reading-chair, bench or relaxed curtain scheme where its cool, muted ground can sit alongside chalky creams, aged wood and soft blue-grey accents. The pale foliage also gives teal-painted or neutral rooms a layered botanical focal point.

Use the cool blue-teal ground and pale foliage to bring pattern and colour to upholstery, curtains or blinds.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Acanthus Teal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
