Arvin in Ebony reads as a deep, muted grey with a lightly speckled, textural weave. The surface has a quietly tailored look rather than a flat solid.

About this fabric

Arvin Ebony from Larsen’s Allan collection is a fabric with a subtle small-scale woven texture and a width of approximately 138cm. Its 60% cotton, 21% viscose, 10% linen and 9% polyester composition gives the cloth a natural, slightly dry handle in appearance, with just enough sheen variation to lift the dark ground. In this colourway, the tone sits between charcoal and soft black, with tiny lighter flecks that stop it feeling flat and add depth across the surface. The repeat is approximately V 9cm / H 12cm, creating a regular woven rhythm that reinforces the smart, understated finish.

How to use it

Use Ebony where you want a darker neutral that still feels textural, such as a tailored armchair, bench cushion or full-length curtain. It pairs well with oak, smoked timber and pale stone, where the grey-black ground can anchor the room without looking heavy.

A restrained dark neutral that works neatly on tailored upholstery or layered curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
