Ambrose Taupe

Carissa Sheers FabricF4632-02

Ambrose Taupe is a softly woven sheer with a pale, warm taupe cast and an easy, flowing drape. In this colourway, the cloth reads light and breathable rather than stark, with a gentle linen texture visible through the surface.

About this fabric

From the Carissa Sheers collection by Colefax and Fowler, Ambrose Taupe is supplied as a broad 300cm-wide fabric with no repeat, making it well suited to wide curtain drops and elegant, unbroken lengths. The composition of 58% linen, 29% viscose and 13% wool gives the cloth a natural, slightly textured hand with a smoother, more fluid finish than a pure linen sheer. Visually, this colourway sits in a soft taupe-beige range: warm, muted and lightly creamy, with the weave catching the light in a calm, diffused way. The fabric hangs in gentle vertical folds, suggesting a refined sheer that will filter daylight without feeling heavy.

How to use it

Use Ambrose Taupe where you want a quiet neutral that brings warmth to stone, oak or painted interiors. Its subdued taupe tone works especially well in calm schemes that need softness rather than contrast.

An airy warm neutral that softens daylight beautifully in relaxed, understated schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
