About this fabric

Woven in 47% linen, 35% cotton and 18% viscose, Benson Linen has the natural, lightly textured character you can see in the cloth, with a neat stripe running vertically through the swatch. The ground appears as a mellow ivory-beige, while the slim linear contrast is just a touch lighter, giving the surface quiet definition without strong contrast. With an approximate width of 144cm and a horizontal repeat of 4cm, the design suits clean upholstered forms as well as curtains where the stripe can fall straight. The finish feels restrained and usable, with enough softness from the viscose blend to keep the colourway from looking dry or chalky.

How to use it

Use this colourway to soften painted joinery, slip covers and banquettes, especially where a warm neutral is needed rather than a bright white. It pairs neatly with oak, pale stone and muted greys, and the narrow stripe gives just enough movement for larger pieces.

A quiet neutral stripe that layers easily into classic, coastal or contemporary schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
