Benson Clay

Elliot FabricL9406-02

Benson Clay is a soft, understated stripe with a warm beige ground and fine clay-toned lines running vertically through the cloth. The overall effect is pale and quietly textured, with just enough contrast to give the surface definition.

About this fabric

Woven in 47% linen, 35% cotton and 18% viscose, this Larsen fabric has a natural, lightly dry handle that still reads polished rather than rustic. The repeat is a neat vertical stripe, with a 4cm horizontal repeat and no vertical repeat, creating an orderly, tailored look across the 144cm width. In this Benson Clay colourway, the stripe sits close to the base cloth and appears as a muted clay blush against a creamy beige ground, so the pattern feels gentle rather than graphic. The finish catches the light softly, which suits a calm interior scheme and makes the fabric feel refined without becoming formal. Care code Q 8 < W 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use it for upholstered dining chairs, slim sofas or Roman blinds where the soft clay stripe can add warmth without overpowering the room. It sits especially well with limewashed walls, pale timber and other natural neutrals.

A calm neutral stripe that works beautifully on tailored upholstery or softly structured curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Benson Clay without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
