About this fabric

Emile Gunmetal from the Emile II collection by Jane Churchill is a fabric with a simple, plain appearance and no visible repeat, so the focus stays on its deep gunmetal tone. The swatch reads as a very dark charcoal black with a cool cast, softened slightly by the woven texture rather than any obvious sheen. At approximately 140cm wide and made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester, it offers a balanced cloth that suits both upholstery and drapery use. The C 8 + T 3 care code and K fire code are useful practical details for specifying it in a home or contract setting.

How to use it

Use this shade to anchor lighter schemes, where its muted black tone can frame pale wood, stone, or plaster finishes without looking harsh. It also works well with brushed metals and textured neutrals for a crisp, modern contrast.

A cool, understated dark neutral that works cleanly on seating or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
