Emile Indigo

Emile II FabricJ896F-42

Emile Indigo is a deep, quietly saturated blue with a smooth, even surface and a cool, low-sheen finish. The colour reads dark and refined, with just enough variation in the weave to soften the tone.

About this fabric

This plain fabric from Jane Churchill’s Emile II collection is composed of 50% cotton and 50% polyester, with a width of approximately 140cm. The cloth shows a fine, tightly held texture rather than a bold weave, which helps the indigo colour appear smooth and uniform across the surface. Its deep blue shade sits between navy and indigo, giving it a calm, tailored look with a slightly muted depth. With no repeat to manage at V 0cm / H 0cm approx, it is straightforward to pattern match for upholstery or soft furnishings.

How to use it

Use this indigo as a grounding colour on an upholstered chair, headboard or bench, where its darker tone will add depth without looking glossy. It also pairs well with pale neutrals, warm wood and brass accents for a crisp, classic contrast.

A rich blue that works neatly on upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
