Foss Clay

Foss Linen II FabricF4218-50

Foss Clay is a quietly earthy linen with a soft, even surface and a warm beige-clay cast. The plain weave gives it a calm, unfussy look that reads natural and refined in the light.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% linen, Foss Clay has a fine, matte texture and a very subtle cross-weave that keeps the surface looking crisp rather than heavy. The colour sits in a warm beige range with a gentle clay undertone, so it feels softer and deeper than a pale neutral but less red than a true terracotta. With no visible repeat and an approximate width of 138cm, it is an easy cloth to pattern-match into simple upholstery or tailored curtains. The understated finish works well where a room needs warmth, texture and a grounded neutral rather than a bold statement.

How to use it

Use Foss Clay on relaxed armchairs, cushions or softly tailored curtains where its warm beige tone can sit alongside oak, limestone and aged brass. It is especially effective in rooms that need a natural neutral with a touch more depth than stone or oat.

A quiet natural linen that brings warmth without overpowering a scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
