Manuel Canovas

Iris Marine

Iris FabricM4084-38

Iris Marine is a richly saturated navy with a restrained, almost ink-like surface and a subtle horizontal grain. The finish reads dark and refined, with just enough variation in the weave to stop the colour from looking flat.

About this fabric

This Manuel Canovas fabric is composed of 80% cotton and 20% polyester, with an approximate width of 138cm and a repeat of V 0cm / H 0cm, so it presents as a non-directional plain rather than a patterned cloth. In the swatch, the colour sits in a very deep marine blue, close to midnight navy, with cooler blue notes that emerge where the light touches the texture. The fine woven grain gives the surface a discreet striated look, adding depth without introducing a visible motif. With no performance features noted, this is best considered for considered decorative upholstery where the colour and texture can do the talking.

How to use it

Use Iris Marine on a sofa, occasional chair or bench where the dark blue can anchor lighter walls and wood tones. It pairs especially well with pale neutrals, brass accents and crisp white linen for a sharp, tailored room.

A dark, polished navy that brings depth and quiet elegance to tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
