About this fabric

Made from 84% polyester and 16% recycled cotton, this 138cm-wide chenille has a substantial, closely textured appearance suited to upholstery. The grey colourway shifts between charcoal flecks and lighter grey threads, giving the surface depth without a pronounced motif. Rated for domestic upholstery, ALT4245 is also machine washable and carries Domestic Cig & Match flame retardancy. The compact weave reads smart and tactile rather than smooth or glossy.

How to use it

Use this cool, mottled grey on a sofa, armchair or dining seat where its charcoal-and-pale-grey texture can complement black metal, smoked timber and other restrained neutrals. Its low-contrast surface is particularly effective in modern rooms that need depth without a strong pattern.

A dense, finely mottled grey chenille that brings understated texture to domestic upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
