Lapis Taupe

Fabrics Fabric927

Lapis Taupe appears as a very dark brown-taupe textile, close to charcoal in the shadowed areas of the swatch. Its understated plain weave gives the surface a composed, tailored character.

About this fabric

The colour reads as a muted, almost blackened brown rather than a warm mid-tone taupe, with subtle tonal variation across the woven surface. A fine, closely set weave is visible, giving the fabric a dry matte finish instead of a lustrous or patterned effect. The dense appearance makes this colourway particularly suited to upholstery, where its dark tone can add depth without introducing a motif. No performance features are noted for this colourway.

How to use it

Use Lapis Taupe on a compact sofa, armchair or dining seat where its deep brown-charcoal tone can anchor lighter walls, natural timber and softly coloured textiles. Pair it with warm ivory or aged brass to prevent the near-black shade from feeling stark.

Use this deep brown-taupe plain weave to bring a dark, quietly tailored finish to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
