About this fabric

Balmoral Duck Egg from Porter & Stone’s Misc collection is a 140cm-wide fabric with a 32cm vertical and 35.5cm horizontal pattern repeat. Woven in 78% polyester and 22% cotton, it has the practical handle of a mixed-fibre cloth with a neat, stable plaid structure. This colourway reads as a washed duck egg blue, softened by chalky cream bands and fine green-grey lines, while the darker crossing stripes give the design definition without making it feel heavy. The visible texture appears smooth and lightly napped rather than coarse, which helps the blue stay calm and muted across the surface.

How to use it

It works well in a light-filled room where the blue and cream checks can keep the scheme feeling crisp rather than coastal. Pair it with painted timber, pale oak and warm white walls for a relaxed upholstered bench, blind or curtain.
