About this fabric

This GP & J Baker velvet is made from 88% cotton and 12% polyester, with a 137 cm width and a substantial 30,000 Martindale rub test. The visible design combines fine black cage outlines and curling supports with perched birds, small monkeys and scattered botanical details. Against the soft cream-parchment background, muted teal, rusty orange, olive and brown create depth without making the colourway feel bright or stark. Its 100 cm vertical repeat and 137 cm horizontal repeat allow the full menagerie to read across curtains, loose or fixed upholstery and bedspreads.

How to use it

Use the warm parchment ground to soften a reading room, bedroom or relaxed sitting room, then pick up the print’s muted teal and rust in plain cushions or painted furniture. On upholstery, its detailed animal scene works especially well as a focal chair or ottoman; on curtains, the generous repeat can be appreciated at full height.
