About this fabric

The woven face is built from fine horizontal striations crossing uneven vertical bands, creating a restrained checked effect rather than a rigid geometric grid. Ochre gold gives the colourway warmth, while the slate and pale grey threads cool the overall impression and catch the light across the textured surface. At 345 gsm, with a supplied count of 345 threads per cm, it has a substantial presence suited to both upholstery and drapery. The usable width is 139 cm, with a 63.5 cm vertical repeat and a 34.5 cm horizontal repeat.

How to use it

Use Malwa Gold/Slate on a tailored chair, headboard or sofa where its ochre warmth can balance natural timber and cream upholstery. The slate-grey tracery also works with cooler stone, blue-grey and brushed metal accents.

A warm ochre-and-slate woven texture that brings subtle pattern and depth to upholstery or softly structured window treatments.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
