Minako Marine/Ink

Atelier Fabrics FabricHAF0319-01

Minako Marine/Ink layers deep marine blue, ink-grey and bright turquoise across a loose, cloudlike abstract design. White areas break through the colour like soft highlights, giving the swatch a cool, painterly sense of movement.

About this fabric

This lightweight fabric has a broad, watercolour-style repeat in marine blue, turquoise, pale blue, soft grey and white, with irregular edges that keep the pattern fluid rather than geometric. At 30 gsm, it is a fine cloth best suited to drapery, where its lighter handle can allow the layered colour to read softly in natural light. The usable width is 292 cm, making it practical for generous curtain drops. Its pattern repeat measures 127 cm vertically by 67 cm horizontally, creating a substantial but open-scale arrangement across the cloth.

How to use it

Use Minako Marine/Ink at full length in a bright room with chalky whites, cool greys and pale timber, allowing the saturated turquoise and deep marine marks to act as the room’s colour focus.

Use this cool marine-and-turquoise colourway for softly patterned curtains that bring movement and watery depth to a room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
