Postelia Amber/Slate

Colour 4 Fabrics FabricHAF0211-02

Postelia Amber/Slate combines a light cream ground with airy slate foliage, grey-green seed heads and distinctive warm amber starburst flowers. The open botanical arrangement gives the colourway a layered, illustrated character without losing the brightness of the ground.

About this fabric

Fine branching stems, feathery leaves and rounded seed heads overlap across the cream background, while the amber flowers introduce a muted, earthy warmth against the cooler slate and blue-grey foliage. At 300 gsm and 49 threads per cm, this is a substantial mid-weight textile suited to both upholstery and drapery. Its 137 cm usable width is closely matched by a 137 cm horizontal pattern repeat, with a 135 cm vertical repeat, so the generously scaled design needs careful pattern planning. The restrained amber, slate and soft grey palette keeps the dense botanical motif calm rather than brightly saturated.

How to use it

Pair this colourway with warm natural timber, oatmeal upholstery and slate-blue accents to echo the contrast between its cream ground, cool foliage and amber blooms. It can bring gentle botanical movement to a reading chair, bench or full-length curtain without darkening the room.

Use the warm amber flower heads and cool slate foliage to balance cream upholstery or softly structured curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
