Sow Baked Terracotta/Soft Focus

Colour 4 Fabrics FabricHAF0498-01

Sow Baked Terracotta/Soft Focus combines a warm, softly muted terracotta ground with a dense scatter of fine cream marks. The close-set motif reads almost like a delicate flecked texture across the cloth.

About this fabric

At 475gsm, this substantial textile has the visual depth and body expected of an upholstery fabric, while its tightly worked surface keeps the small-scale design neat and even. The baked terracotta shade is warm rather than vivid, with the pale marks creating a softly chalked contrast instead of a sharp graphic effect. Its pattern repeat is 12cm vertically by 11.5cm horizontally, giving the surface a consistent all-over rhythm without a dominant focal motif. The usable width is 134.5cm, with a standard length of 35m and a stated construction of 75 threads per centimetre.

How to use it

Use this warm terracotta colourway on a statement armchair, dining seat or compact sofa, where its fine cream fleck can soften darker timber and neutral walls. Add aged brass, ivory linen or muted olive to draw out its earthy, quietly layered character.

Pair the warm baked-clay ground with chalky cream, aged wood and muted olive accents for a softly collected scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
