About this fabric

The large-scale plaid is built from black, charcoal and softer grey blocks, crossed by narrow pale lines that sharpen the check pattern. Its surface shows a pronounced diagonal woven texture, creating subtle tonal movement rather than a flat, printed effect. The cool granite palette feels restrained and architectural, while the deep black bands add visual definition. As a textile with a dense-looking woven surface, it reads particularly well for upholstered seating and occasional pieces.

How to use it

Use Hebridean Granite on a sofa, armchair or ottoman where its charcoal-and-black checks can anchor a room without introducing strong colour. Pair it with weathered timber, aged leather and pale stone tones to draw out the fabric’s cool, rugged depth.

A monochrome, large-scale tartan with a tailored country-house character, well suited to statement upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
