About this fabric

The close, directional weave gives this fabric a visibly substantial upholstery character, while the small herringbone brings quiet surface movement rather than a flat finish. Its grey-taupe base shifts gently between warm beige-grey and cooler stone tones, with muted blue-green and cream lines adding depth. The check is softly blended into the ground, so the overall effect remains understated and tailored rather than high-contrast. The dense woven texture is particularly suited to upholstered chairs, sofas and headboards where its tonal detail can be seen at close range.

How to use it

Use Tummel Inn Heron on a compact sofa or pair of occasional chairs, allowing its cool grey-taupe tone to sit comfortably with chalky neutrals, pale oak and muted blue-green accessories.

Use the cool grey-taupe ground with pale woods, linen and muted blue-green accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
