Flax Putty

Flax Fabric

Flax Putty is a softly muted taupe textile with the warm, chalky character of natural flax. Its understated plain weave gives the surface gentle depth without introducing a visible pattern.

About this fabric

The close weave appears in a warm putty-taupe shade, balanced between beige and grey rather than strongly favouring either. Fine horizontal and vertical threads create a restrained linen-like texture, with slight tonal variation visible across the swatch. The matte finish keeps the colour relaxed and natural, while the even surface gives it enough neatness for both upholstery and drapery applications.

How to use it

Use this warm putty taupe on relaxed seating, simple curtains or upholstered headboards, alongside ivory, mushroom, pale oak and soft grey. Its low-contrast texture works especially well where the room needs warmth without a strong pattern.

Pair this softly textured putty taupe with chalky neutrals, pale timber and natural finishes for a calm, quietly layered scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
