Monogram Monochrome

Formation Fabric

Monogram Monochrome brings crisp black-and-cream contrast to a tightly repeated, interlocking motif. In close view, warm biscuit and oatmeal flecks soften the graphic pattern while the woven surface gives it subtle tactile depth.

About this fabric

This Fabric from Kirkby Design’s Formation collection is shown in a compact, all-over design of curved leaf-like forms and broken geometric marks. Near-black elements sit against an ivory ground, while tan and oatmeal threads add warmth rather than a stark black-and-white effect. The dense construction reads as a substantial woven cloth, making upholstery the natural classification from the image. At close range, the interlaced shapes create lively depth without becoming a large, dominant motif.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a tailored armchair, dining seat or compact sofa where its black ground and warm cream details can act as a graphic focal point. Pair it with walnut, natural oak and quiet ivory textiles to bring out the warmer tan threads.

A tactile black-and-cream woven pattern with warm tan detail for tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
