Metropolitan Fabrics FabricCCF0810-03

Hatoum Jacquard Noir brings an ivory-and-charcoal interpretation to this expressive jacquard design. Repeated paisley-like curls and smoky brush marks create a layered, softly weathered surface.

About this fabric

The Noir colourway pairs a softly warm ivory ground with charcoal and smoky-grey marks, reading as layered monochrome rather than stark black and white. Rounded paisley-like forms, curling tendrils and rough brushstroke edges repeat across the face, while the woven surface gives the drawing a tactile, slightly broken finish. At 274gsm and 141cm usable width, it is a versatile mid-weight for upholstery or drapery. The 65cm vertical by 47cm horizontal repeat gives the motif a clear, medium-scale rhythm when pattern-matched.

How to use it

Use the warm ivory ground to brighten a reading chair, bench or full-length curtain, then echo the charcoal drawing with dark timber, aged metal and soft grey upholstery.

Use the warm ivory ground and charcoal drawing with quiet neutrals, dark wood or aged metal.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
