Gormley Jacquard Ink

Metropolitan Fabrics FabricCCF0809-01

Gormley Jacquard Ink combines deep ink-navy lines with an ivory ground in a tightly interlocking geometric design. Its woven surface gives the high-contrast pattern a tactile, dimensional quality rather than a flat printed appearance.

About this fabric

This Clarke & Clarke jacquard is 136 cm wide and weighs 430 gsm, giving the cloth a substantial handle suited to upholstery. The design is formed from repeated curved, maze-like stripe blocks, with the navy lines turning into one another across the ivory ground. The 34 cm vertical and 34 cm horizontal pattern repeat keeps the geometry clearly defined on larger upholstered surfaces. In this Ink colourway, the cool, saturated navy creates crisp contrast against the lighter ground, while the textured weave softens the graphic effect as it catches the light.

How to use it

Use it on a statement armchair, footstool or sofa in a room with warm ivory, charcoal or natural wood accents. The cool ink tone brings definition to pale schemes while retaining a tailored, contemporary feel.

The substantial ink-and-ivory jacquard suits upholstered seating where its graphic repeat can be appreciated.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Gormley Jacquard Ink without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
