About this fabric

The swatch shows midnight blue shifting through lighter slate-blue marks, with a close irregular weave that creates a subtle crosshatched texture rather than a defined motif. At 300 gsm and 144 cm wide, it is a versatile mid-weight fabric suited to both upholstery and drapery. The specification records no vertical or horizontal pattern repeat, making the tonal surface straightforward to position across a project. A standard length of 40 m supports larger-scale furnishing requirements.

How to use it

Use Martello Midnight where a room needs cool, inky blue depth without a sharp printed pattern; it will sit comfortably against pale neutrals, charcoal and weathered timber. The smoky lighter threads can be echoed in slate or blue-grey cushions and curtains.

Use the deep midnight-blue ground to add cool depth to upholstered seating, curtains or layered soft furnishings.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Martello Midnight without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
