Rue Linen Midnight

Rue Linen FabricSAF0347-22

Rue Linen Midnight is a dark, pared-back blue with a soft linen-like texture and a matte, low-contrast finish. The colour reads as a deep midnight tone with only the faintest cool undertone visible across the weave.

About this fabric

This plain fabric has the calm, tightly woven look of a refined linen cloth, with a subtle slub and gentle surface texture visible throughout the swatch. At 241gsm, it sits in a versatile mid-weight range that works well for both upholstery and drapery, while the 139 cm usable width gives good cutting flexibility. The 0 cm vertical and horizontal repeats make it straightforward to pattern match, and the 84 threads per cm specification points to a fine, compact weave. In this colourway, the navy-black depth feels especially muted and sophisticated rather than bright or overtly inky.

How to use it

Use Rue Linen Midnight on tailored sofas, ottomans, or dining chairs where the deep blue can anchor the room without looking harsh. It also suits curtains or Roman blinds in rooms with pale plaster, oak, or brushed metal finishes, where the dark tone adds depth and contrast.

A quiet, versatile dark blue that lends depth without feeling glossy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
