Tanzania Midnight

Kara FabricL9277-02

Tanzania Midnight pairs a deep navy-blue ground with a softly metallic, pale motif that reads almost ivory against the darkness. The repeated petal-and-quatrefoil arrangement gives it a crisp geometric rhythm.

About this fabric

This Larsen Kara fabric is composed of 50% cotton, 45% jute and 5% viscose, and its textured face suits upholstery beautifully. The 134cm approximate width and 40cm vertical by 33cm horizontal repeat make the pattern practical for statement seating and cushions, while the Q 8 + T 3 care code and √BM fire code provide the key handling and compliance details. Visually, the midnight blue base is cool and saturated rather than black, which lets the pale motif stand out with a calm, tailored contrast. The woven effect gives the lighter shapes a subtle fibre depth, so the design feels refined rather than glossy.

How to use it

Use it on an armchair, banquette or ottoman where the dark blue ground can anchor the room. It works especially well with chalky neutrals, brass accents and natural textures that echo the jute content.

Pair with warm timber, brass and natural linen to lift the deep blue ground.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
