Buteo Midnight

Gustav FabricJ0212-04

Buteo Midnight is a densely textured woven in a deep midnight blue, softened by lighter speckling across the surface. The finish reads quietly mottled rather than flat, giving the colour real depth in the cloth.

About this fabric

This Gustav fabric by Jane Churchill has a compact, small-scale woven texture that brings the dark blue ground to life with subtle flecks of paler blue-grey. The 55% viscose content gives the surface a slightly softened handle and muted sheen, while the mix of polyester, cotton and linen keeps the cloth looking tactile and structured. With an approximate width of 138cm and a repeat of V 7cm / H 6cm, it is well suited to patterned joins where that fine texture can continue cleanly across a scheme. The overall impression is cool, modern and restrained, with enough visual movement to keep the shade from reading as a solid block of navy.

How to use it

Use Buteo Midnight on an upholstered armchair, banquette or cushions where its dark, mottled blue can add depth without feeling glossy. It also works well in a calm scheme with pale oak, chalky neutrals or brushed metal accents.

A cool, woven blue that brings depth and quiet sophistication to tailored interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
