Buteo Blue

Gustav FabricJ0212-05

Buteo Blue shows a tightly textured surface in a muted teal-blue tone, with fine speckling that softens the colour across the cloth. The overall effect is calm and smart, with just enough depth to avoid looking flat.

About this fabric

Buteo Blue from the Gustav collection by Jane Churchill is woven in 55% viscose, 33% polyester, 8% cotton and 4% linen, with an approximate width of 138cm and a repeat of V 7cm / H 6cm. The fabric has a compact, tactile weave that reads as gently nubby rather than smooth, giving the blue surface subtle movement in the light. Its colour sits between blue and green, with a muted, slightly dusty quality that feels more refined than bright. The small-scale texture makes the shade appear layered and versatile, suited to schemes that need colour without high contrast.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an occasional chair, bench cushion or Roman blind where its cool teal-blue tone can add quiet depth. It pairs neatly with pale oak, chalky neutrals and darker navy accents.

A quietly textured blue that works well on tailored upholstery or relaxed curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
