Buteo Red

Gustav FabricJ0212-01

Buteo Red is a richly textured red colourway with a warm rust undertone and a softly mottled surface. The small-scale weave gives it a tailored, tactile look rather than a flat solid.

About this fabric

Buteo Red from the Gustav collection by Jane Churchill is a woven fabric with a compact, speckled surface that reads as earthy red with terracotta and gold-brown depth. The cloth is composed of 55% viscose, 33% polyester, 8% cotton and 4% linen, and it has a width of approximately 138cm. Its repeat is approximately V 7cm / H 6cm, which helps the pattern sit with a fine, rhythmic texture across larger pieces. The overall impression is warm and grounded, with enough visual movement to keep the colour lively without becoming bright or glossy.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an accent chair, banquette or compact sofa where the warm rust red can bring depth without overpowering the room. It also works well against oatmeal, tobacco leather and walnut finishes.

Pair with warm neutrals and dark woods for a grounded, tailored finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
