About this fabric

Blake Check Red from the Hartwell collection by Jane Churchill is a 100% cotton fabric with an approximate 5cm vertical and horizontal repeat and a width of about 135cm. In the photo, the check reads as a soft red over a pale creamy ground, with fine intersecting lines that create a neat, evenly balanced grid. The colour feels warm but not saturated, so the red has a gentle, vintage-leaning quality rather than a strong primary brightness. Its cotton handle and small repeat make it well suited to tailored interior schemes where pattern is wanted without visual heaviness. Care code C 8 + T 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a buttoned armchair, kitchen banquette or café curtains to bring in a restrained country check. Its light ground and softened red lines sit easily with painted timber, oat fabrics and simple natural textures.

A crisp small check that adds a neat country feel to relaxed upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
