Capella Indigo

Gustav FabricJ785F-03

Capella Indigo is a deep, cool blue woven with a lively speckled texture that gives the surface plenty of movement. The small-scale pattern reads tailored and understated, with lighter yarns catching the light against the darker ground.

About this fabric

Capella Indigo from Jane Churchill’s Gustav collection is a fabric with a 136cm approximate width and a repeat of V 19cm / H 17cm approx. The cloth is composed of 56% viscose, 25% polyester and 19% cotton, which helps create the softly lustrous, tightly worked surface visible here. In this colourway the blue sits in a deep indigo register, darkened almost toward navy, while the fine pale flecks lift the weave and stop it from feeling flat. The result is a smart, tactile fabric with enough body for upholstery and enough movement for drapery.

How to use it

Use Capella Indigo on an armchair, banquette or curtains where you want a grounded blue with texture rather than a flat solid. It works especially well with ivory walls, walnut woods and brushed nickel or aged brass.

Pair with pale oak, chalk white and brushed metal for a crisp, tailored finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
