Tambora Blue/Ochre

Gloriana FabricJ0285-02

Tambora Blue/Ochre has a fresh, airy look, with softly painted florals and birds set against a pale cream ground. The blue outlines and ochre highlights keep the design light rather than heavy.

About this fabric

Tambora Blue/Ochre from the Gloriana collection by Jane Churchill is a 60% linen, 30% cotton, 10% polyamide fabric with a width of approximately 142cm and a vertical repeat of approximately 65cm. The print reads as a graceful, large-scale decorative scene, with trailing flowers, curling leaves and perched birds worked in restrained blue, ochre, soft green and lilac. On the image, the colours stay gentle and slightly washed, so the pattern feels crisp but not stark against the warm off-white ground. The linen-cotton blend gives it a natural, lightly textured character that suits its painterly style.

How to use it

This colourway works well for curtains in rooms that need a bright, classic note without strong contrast. It also pairs neatly with painted woodwork in pale grey, cream or duck-egg to echo the cool blue tones.

Use for curtains or statement cushions where the airy cream ground and delicate blue-ochre detail can show.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
