Rene Blue

Gustav FabricJ0202-05

Rene Blue is a softly striated weave with a pale, cool blue ground and tiny flecks of darker slate and sand-toned yarns. The effect is crisp but gentle, giving the fabric a quietly tailored look.

About this fabric

This colourway shows a fresh, washed blue tone that sits between sky and duck egg, broken up by fine horizontal bands and small irregular flecks. The mix of 59% viscose, 20% polyester, 15% cotton and 6% linen gives the surface a lightly textured, slightly slubby handle that reads more refined than rustic. With a repeat of approximately 8cm vertically and 17cm horizontally, the pattern has enough structure to feel deliberate without becoming bold. At approximately 136cm wide, it is a practical fabric for a range of soft furnishing projects, and the BM fire code adds reassurance for domestic use.

How to use it

Use Rene Blue where you want a pale blue fabric with enough texture to keep it from feeling flat, especially on small seating or fitted cushions. It would sit well with chalk white, weathered oak and deeper navy accents for a calm, layered scheme.

A cool, understated weave that works neatly on upholstery or relaxed curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
