Ellis Navy shows a classic pinstripe effect in cool navy and pale ground tones, giving the fabric a sharp, tailored look. The narrow vertical repeat keeps the design orderly and understated.

About this fabric
Woven in 100% cotton, this Hartwell fabric has a very fine vertical stripe repeat of approximately 1cm across a width of about 135cm. The navy reads as deep but softened, with lighter threads breaking up the surface so the cloth feels crisp rather than heavy. Its close stripe pattern gives a neat, traditional rhythm that works well in rooms where you want colour without a busy motif. The fabric’s balanced handle and smart finish make it suitable for both upholstery and drapery applications.
How to use it
Use Ellis Navy on a tailored armchair, bench seat, or roman blind where the narrow stripe can add structure. It sits especially well with white painted joinery, pale linen, and walnut or ebonised wood.
Pair with crisp neutrals or dark timber for a clean, tailored finish.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ellis Navy without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
