Delvoye Velvet Ink

Metropolitan Fabrics VelvetCCF0806-01

Delvoye Velvet Ink gives the flowing pattern a cool, inky depth, with blue-grey lines rippling across an ivory-cream ground. The close-up reveals a softly textured velvet surface that gently breaks up the drawn contours.

About this fabric

This 601gsm velvet has a substantial visual presence, making it well suited to upholstery. Fine ink-blue and blue-grey lines form repeated, organic wave shapes over the pale ivory ground, creating a fluid motif with the character of contour lines or softly brushed animal markings. The pattern repeat measures 24.5cm vertically by 34.2cm horizontally, so the undulating design remains clearly legible across a chair, headboard or sofa. It has a 137cm usable width and a listed standard length of 35m.

How to use it

Use the cool ink tone on a statement armchair, ottoman or sofa, pairing it with chalky ivory, pale grey and deeper navy accents. The light ground keeps the expressive pattern open, while the dark blue lines add definition against pared-back interiors.

A substantial ink-blue velvet with an ivory ground and softly rippling contour pattern, suited to statement upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
