Herrera Slate

Metropolitan Fabrics FabricCCF0811-02

Herrera Slate pairs a cool, pale slate-grey ground with irregular ivory striations that run vertically across the cloth. The broken, painterly marks give the surface a softly weathered character while retaining a composed, linear rhythm.

About this fabric

At 395gsm, this substantial woven fabric is well suited to upholstery, with enough visual depth for chairs, sofas and occasional seating. Its 140cm usable width is patterned by an abstract vertical repeat measuring 56.7cm high and 35cm wide. In this colourway, the grey reads muted and slightly cool, while the ivory marks catch the light against denser grey flecks to create a mottled, tactile appearance. The standard length is 40m, making it practical for coordinated upholstery projects.

How to use it

Use Herrera Slate on a tailored sofa or statement armchair where its cool grey tone can calm warmer timber and leather accents. The irregular ivory striping also works well with plain ivory, chalk and soft charcoal cushions.

Use this cool slate-grey ground to bring softly weathered vertical texture to upholstered seating.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Herrera Slate without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
