Austen Danube

Darwin Collection FabricAUSTEN

Austen Danube is a cool slate-grey plain with a softly striated surface and a calm, tailored look. The colour reads even and measured, with just enough texture to keep the cloth visually alive.

About this fabric

Woven in 90% Recycled Polyester and 10% Polyester, Austen Danube is supplied as a drapes-only fabric with a 140cm width and a substantial 280 grams per linear metre. The plain weave shows fine horizontal movement across the surface, giving the grey a gentle sense of depth rather than a flat solid finish. Its cool slate tone feels restrained and modern, with a soft matte appearance that suits window treatment beautifully. With a 200 gsm weight and no pattern repeat, it offers a clean, uninterrupted expanse on the curtain length.

How to use it

Use this shade where you want the curtains to feel crisp and architectural, especially against pale plaster, white woodwork or dark timber. Its cool grey tone also balances bolder accent colours without competing for attention.

A clean, cool grey that gives drapes a quietly tailored finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
