Austen Linen

Darwin Collection FabricAUSTEN

Austen Linen is a softly toned plain fabric with a calm oatmeal-cream look and a subtle linen-style surface. The finish appears smooth and restrained, letting the colour do the work rather than any visible pattern.

About this fabric

Woven in 90% recycled polyester and 10% polyester, Austen Linen is specified for drapes only and has a 140cm width. At 200gsm, it reads as a substantial curtain cloth rather than a sheer, with a gentle body that suits clean hanging lines. The swatch shows a warm, muted cream with a faint beige cast and a low, even texture that catches light softly across the surface. With no repeat and a plain style, it offers an understated backdrop that feels neat and contemporary.

How to use it

Use this soft oatmeal tone for full-length curtains, relaxed Romans, or layered sheers where you want warmth without visual weight. It pairs naturally with pale timber, stone, and brushed metal finishes.

A quiet neutral that keeps a room feeling light and tailored.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
