Austen Navy

Darwin Collection FabricAUSTEN

Austen Navy is a deep, quietly lustrous navy with a fine horizontal striation visible across the surface. The colour reads dark and enveloping, with a cooler blue note that softens at the edges in the light.

About this fabric

Woven in India from 90% Recycled Polyester and 10% Polyester, this plain fabric is specified for drapes only and has a width of 140cm. At 200gsm and 280 grams per linear metre, it has enough substance to hang cleanly while still reading as a smooth, fluid cloth rather than a heavy upholstery textile. The surface shows a delicate horizontal grain that gives the navy extra depth, shifting between inky blue and softer slate-toned reflections as it catches the light. With no horizontal pattern repeat, the look stays calm and uninterrupted, making the colour itself the main feature.

How to use it

Use Austen Navy for full-length curtains, Roman blinds, or layered drapery where a deep blue backdrop is needed without pattern. It pairs especially well with pale walls, walnut timber, and brushed metal details for a crisp, tailored scheme.

A refined navy with a subtle lustre that suits tailored curtains and elegant interlining.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
