Austen Oyster

Darwin Collection FabricAUSTEN

Austen Oyster is a pared-back plain in a soft oyster cream, with a gentle horizontal texture that gives the surface a subtle linen-like movement. The colour reads light and airy rather than stark, with a muted warmth that softens the finish.

About this fabric

This fabric from the Darwin Collection is composed of 90% Recycled Polyester and 10% Polyester, and it is specified for drapes only. At 140cm wide and 200gsm, it has enough substance to hang neatly while still keeping the lightweight, fluid look visible in the swatch. The surface shows fine horizontal striations that catch the light softly, adding quiet texture to the oyster cream ground. Its overall tone sits between ivory and stone, making it feel calm, understated and easy to layer into a refined interior.

How to use it

Use Austen Oyster for full-length curtains where you want daylight to be filtered rather than blocked, especially in rooms with pale timber, limestone or warm neutral paintwork. The soft cream tone keeps the window dressing discreet while still adding a tailored finish.

A quiet oyster tone that keeps a room light, calm and tailored.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
