Austen Sesame
Darwin Collection FabricAUSTEN
Austen Sesame is a softly luminous plain with a gentle sesame-cream tone and a fine horizontal texture visible across the surface. The overall effect is quiet and warm, with just enough grain to keep the cloth from reading flat.

About this fabric
This colourway shows a pale, creamy beige with a subtle warm cast, so it feels lighter and less yellow than a classic biscuit tone. The surface has a delicate ribbed or strié effect that catches the light softly, giving the plain weave a little movement without introducing pattern. Supplied as a drapes-only fabric, it has a practical 140cm width and a substantial 200gsm weight, with 280 grams per linear metre. The composition is 90% Recycled Polyester and 10% Polyester, and the fabric is made in India. With zero horizontal pattern repeat, it presents as a clean, uninterrupted expanse of colour.
How to use it
Use Austen Sesame for relaxed curtains or full-length drapes where you want a pale neutral that still feels warmer than white. It pairs especially well with oak, linen, and muted stone finishes, letting the subtle texture add depth beside smoother surfaces.
A calm, light-reflective neutral that works beautifully in airy, layered interiors.

Pairs well with
Austen Sesame is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
