Austen Teal

Darwin Collection FabricAUSTEN

Austen Teal is a quietly sophisticated plain with a cool, deep teal surface and a fine horizontal strié that gives the cloth gentle movement. The colour reads subdued rather than bright, with a dusky green-blue depth that softens the overall look.

About this fabric

Woven in India, this fabric is composed of 90% recycled polyester and 10% polyester, with a width of 140cm and a weight of 200gsm / 280g per linear metre. It is specified for drapes only, and the plain style makes the subtle horizontal texture the main visual detail. In this colourway, the teal sits in a muted mid-to-deep register, so it feels calmer and more grounded than a vivid blue-green. The surface has a softly brushed, almost silk-like directionality that catches light without a strong sheen.

How to use it

Use Austen Teal for full-length curtains, relaxed interlinings, or layered window treatments where the colour can deepen near the glass. It pairs especially well with pale oak, chalk white, and warm brass for a composed, contemporary scheme.

A quietly elegant teal for tailored curtains and soft, modern interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
