Austen Saffron

Darwin Collection FabricAUSTEN

Austen Saffron is a quietly warm plain with a smooth, linen-like look and a soft saffron-brown tone. The surface reads calm and even, with subtle horizontal striation that gives the colour a gentle depth.

About this fabric

Woven in 90% recycled polyester and 10% polyester, this drapes-only fabric has a practical 140cm width and a substantial 200gsm weight. The visible finish is fine and lightly textured rather than glossy, so the saffron shade lands as a muted brown-gold with a dry, understated character. There is no repeat to manage, making it a straightforward choice for full-length curtains and other window treatments where a clean, uninterrupted plain is preferred. Made in India, it has a composed, smart feel that works well when you want colour without pattern.

How to use it

Use this warm saffron tone to soften walnut, oak, or dark painted joinery, or to bring quiet richness into a neutral scheme. It works especially well in rooms that need a grounded curtain colour with a gentle golden-brown cast.

A warm, understated plain that suits tailored curtains and soft, tonal layering.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
