Austen Alpine

Darwin Collection FabricAUSTEN

Austen Alpine is a quietly tonal plain with a cool, misted green appearance and a lightly striated surface. The finish reads soft and understated, with enough movement in the weave to keep the colour from feeling flat.

About this fabric

Woven in 90% Recycled Polyester and 10% Polyester, this fabric is supplied at 140cm wide and is specified for drapes only. The cloth has a smooth, fine surface with subtle horizontal texturing that catches the light gently rather than boldly. Its alpine green shade sits between sage and grey, giving it a fresh but muted character that feels calm rather than bright. At 200gsm, it has enough substance to hang neatly while still reading as a curtain fabric rather than an upholstery cloth.

How to use it

Use this soft green with pale oak, chalk white and natural linen for a restful scheme, or pair it with deep charcoal for a cooler, more tailored look. It is especially effective where you want colour on the window without a strong pattern taking focus.

A cool muted green that brings a calm, pared-back finish to curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
