Malevich Noir
Metropolitan Fabrics FabricCCF0820-03
Malevich Noir makes an immediate graphic impression, with broad ink-black brushstrokes looping and bending across an ivory ground. The visible tonal streaks within each mark retain the energy of a hand-worked gesture rather than a flat, uniform stripe.

About this fabric
This black-and-ivory colourway has a cool, high-contrast character: the deep charcoal-black marks read strongly against the light ground, while their feathered edges and uneven internal lines soften the graphic impact. The abstract motif repeats vertically every 110 cm and horizontally every 68.5 cm, creating a large-scale composition that shifts between open ivory spaces and dense, interlocking strokes. At 211 gsm and 137 cm usable width, it is a versatile mid-weight suited to both upholstery and drapery applications. The standard length is 35 m, making it practical for projects that require considered pattern placement across multiple pieces.
How to use it
Use Malevich Noir to bring crisp monochrome movement to a contemporary sofa, occasional chair or full-height curtain. Pair the ivory ground with warm timber and pale stone to temper the cool black, or echo its charcoal depth in lighting and metal details.
A bold black-and-ivory statement for modern upholstery, cushions, curtains or blinds.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Malevich Noir without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
