Alder Forest

Bampton FabricF4884-01

Alder Forest reads as a softly mottled greige with a gentle warm cast, its fine weave giving the surface a calm, understated depth. The close, even texture keeps the colourway quiet and refined rather than flat.

About this fabric

This Bampton fabric from Colefax and Fowler has a subtle herringbone-like woven texture that softens the overall surface and lets the pale grey-beige tone breathe. The composition is 51% Cotton, 16% Polyester, 14% Viscose, 12% Linen and 7% Wool, which suits the slightly textured, natural look visible in the swatch. At approximately 140cm wide with a repeat of V 0cm / H 0cm approx, it presents as an easy, non-directional option for a polished interior. The warm greige colouring sits between stone and taupe, with just enough depth in the weave to feel tailored without looking heavy.

How to use it

Use this muted greige on a tailored armchair, banquette or curtains where you want a soft neutral with more texture than a flat plain. It pairs neatly with oak, chalk white and dark bronze for a calm, layered room.

A versatile muted greige that works beautifully across upholstery and relaxed drapery schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
