About this fabric

Alder Aqua from the Bampton collection by Colefax and Fowler is a fabric with no repeat, making the understated woven structure read cleanly across the surface. It is woven in a 51% cotton, 16% polyester, 14% viscose, 12% linen and 7% wool blend, with a width of approximately 140cm. In this colourway the yarns settle into a pale aqua-grey tone that feels airy rather than bright, with the texture adding just enough movement to keep the cloth from looking flat. The finish has a gently heathered depth, so the shade changes subtly as the light falls across it.

How to use it

Use this soft aqua-grey to brighten upholstery, loose covers or curtains without introducing a strong colour statement. It sits well with whitewashed timber, pale oak and chalky neutrals, and gives a room a cool, understated coastal note.

A calm aqua-grey that works neatly across upholstery and soft furnishings.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
